REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years’ experience

- IT Degree or IT Diploma

- Professional experience in the administration of SUSE Linux Enterprise Systems, preferably in complex and productive environments.

- Good knowledge of Linux operating system concepts, including file system, kernel memory, networking, high availability and security concepts.

- Good knowledge of scripting.

- SUSE administration certification (SLES12/15)

- ITIL certification

- Thales Vormetric or IBM Guardium

- South African citizens only

 

ROLE TASKS

- The Linux team in ZA is part of the company’s global operations network and delivers an important contribution for standard operation and project services for over 600 OS instances. Additionally, the team is responsible for Backup and Data Encryption Services.

- Server installation and de-commissioning

- Supporting problem, incident and change management according ITIL

- Interacting with international colleagues

- Implement software and hardware updates.

- Diagnose and resolve complex configuration and troubleshooting issues within a multi-vendor infrastructure.

- Ensure process KPIs (Key Process Indicators), preparations for planned changes, analysing and solving incidents and problems.

- Scripting (Perl, Phyton, CGI, Bash and Splunk).

- Implement, and maintain system security standards, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the Company’s Group standards.

- Create and maintain infrastructure standards documentation as it relates to infrastructure systems design, configuration, support, and processes.

- Manage all operations regarding the Data Security Manager (Vormetic DSM)
